Her work spans a wide range of industries and organizational contexts, including investigations involving founders and C-Suite executives, entertainment companies, school districts, non-profits, and government agencies. Elina’s diverse legal background strengthens her ability to evaluate complex workplace issues from multiple perspectives.
Elina began her legal career in criminal law before transitioning into civil litigation, where she defended healthcare professionals and institutions. She later honed her expertise in employment law, spending nearly a decade at the national firm Gordon & Rees, where she handled a wide array of employment matters, including harassment, retaliation, discrimination, wrongful termination, failure to accommodate, and breach of contract claims. She also conducted workplace investigations and developed strategies to resolve pre-litigation disputes, giving her a pragmatic and balanced approach to fact-finding.
She has represented clients before numerous administrative agencies, such as the Department of Fair Employment and Housing, the California Labor Commissioner, the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, and the Commission on Professional Competence.
Elina is a member of the Association of Workplace Investigators, underscoring her commitment to the highest investigative standards. She earned her Juris Doctorate from Southwestern University School of Law and her Bachelor of Arts degrees in Mass Communications and Political Science from the University of California, Berkeley. In law school, she gained additional experience in intellectual property and employment-related matters while working for a major television and film studio.
